Underground L.A. clothing brand NOSESSO (meaning "no gender" in Italian) is known for their unisex clothing that explores design, collage and gender fluidity. Collaborating with photographer Pinky Ortiz, who previously shot the cover of our joint issue with Sula Collective, we developed the idea of a photoshoot meant to unite our two brands, Black and Latinx creatives seeking to carve out a space for ourselves in the white-dominated media landscape. We decided to feature only Afro-Latinx models to model NOSESSO's clothing in order to stay true to their black-owned values and brand as well as our desire to remind our audience that Black Latinxs exist, need to be at the forefront of our movement, and must be heard. With the backdrop of Exposition Rose garden on a Wednesday afternoon in August, we present "Sister/Nature".....
